Rent Reviews & Rating Appeals

Rent reviews allow the periodical adjustment of commercial rents to the market level current at the date of review. Rent reviews take place at whatever intervals are agreed in the rent review clause(s) in the lease. This is an important service both for landlords and tenants of commercial properties.

We have a detailed local knowledge of rental levels in the Whitby area.  We are able to give expert advice and guidance to both landlords and tenants on what can be expected in terms of rents.  We can undertake the service of appropriate Notices and Counter-Notices and then enter into detailed negotiations where appropriate, with the view of obtaining a settlement on review of rentals during the term of a lease.

You may require a rating appeal if you think your rateable value is wrong. You can apply to the Valuation Officer to change it. To do this, you will need to make a 'proposal' to alter the rating list.
